How a trip goes
From the boathouse door to dry towels, most trips take about two and a half hours.
Meet at the boathouse
Arrive 15 minutes early. We check you in, fit life jackets and find everyone a dry bag for phones and keys.
Learn on dry land
Ten minutes on the beach: how to hold the paddle, steer, stop, and what to do if you tip. First timers are paddling fine within minutes.
Follow your guide
Your guide leads the line and stops whenever there is something to see: kingfishers, monitor lizards, a heron fishing the shallows.
Swim, snack, drift home
A sandbar stop with fruit and cold water, then an easy paddle back with the current. Showers and towels at the boathouse.
Three kinds of water
Mangrove tunnels
The calmest water we paddle. Narrow channels under a roof of roots and leaves, where the only sounds are your paddle and the birds. Good for first timers, families and anyone who wants to slow down.
- 2 hours
- Calm water
- Kids from 6
The open lagoon
Wide, bright water that turns gold in the evening. A steady paddle out to a sandbar for a swim and fruit, then home with the breeze behind you. Our most popular sunset trip.
- 2.5 hours
- Gentle current
- Sunset departures
River rapids
Class II rapids, eddies to play in and a waterfall lunch stop. You will get wet. For paddlers who have done a trip or two and want their heart rate up.
- 4 hours
- Rapids
- Adults only
Your guides
Every guide is first-aid and swiftwater-rescue certified, and paddles these waters most days of the year.
Ravi
Lead guide, mangroves
Has paddled these channels since he was nine and can name a bird by its call before you see it.
Leah
Guide, sunset lagoon
Swiftwater rescue trainer. Knows exactly which sandbar has the best swim at every tide.
Kenji
Guide, river rapids
Former slalom racer who now teaches eddy turns with a lot of patience and a little showing off.
Before you paddle
Anything else, call the boathouse. Someone is on the dock from 6:30 every morning.
Do I need any experience?
No. The mangrove and lagoon trips are made for first timers, and the briefing covers everything you need. The river rapids trip asks for at least one previous paddle.
Can children come?
Yes, from age 6 on calm-water trips. Children paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult, so book at least one adult per child.
What should I wear?
Clothes that can get wet and dry fast, a hat, sunscreen and sandals that strap on. We provide life jackets, dry bags and spray jackets on cooler days.
What if the weather turns?
Your guide checks the wind and water every morning. If it is not safe, we move you to another time or day for free, or refund you in full.
Can I bring my phone?
Yes. Every boat gets a waterproof dry bag, and you can add a GoPro rental or a guide photographer when you book.
How do I pay?
Booking online holds your seats straight away. You pay at the boathouse on the day, by card or cash.
